Kenneth Sewell

Kenneth Andrew Sewell, born December 22, 1978, in Gastonia, NC, son of the late George Harold and Gladys Rice Sewell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his long-time caregiver, Audrey Rowland - Mawmaw.

Kenneth was a beloved member of West Fifth Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, where he found great joy in singing in the choir and making sure every person who walked through the doors felt welcomed and cared for. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he could be counted on for anything - whether it was cleaning the gym or chasing the kids around the gym with a smile.

Known for his playful spirit, Ken loved to bring laughter to those around him. This time of the year, you could often catch him trying to slip a whoopee cushion under an unsuspected friend, his eyes full of joy. He also loved to dance, and never hesitated to ask anyone to join him.

Ken was the kind of man you met once and never forgot. His joy, kindness, and laughter filled every room he entered. He touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him.

Those left to cherish his memory are, special caregiver, Randall "Pop" (Audrey); sister, Trina and Jack Ball; brother, Gary and Christie Sewell; sister, Pat Sewell; nephew, Andrew Sewell; special caregiver and sister, Carole and Dennis Raber; special caregiver, Audrey and Tysor Montgomery; and special friends, Rowland and Alissa Raber, and Ollie Montgomery.

A funeral service will be held 3:00pm, Saturday, December 13, 2025, at West Fifth Avenue Freewill Baptist Church - 2145 W Fifth Avenue, Gastonia, NC, 28056. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.
