Kenneth F. Mcswain

Gastonia, NC Kenneth F. McSwain, 91, passed away Friday, September 28, 2012, at Belaire Health Care Ctr., Gastonia. He was born December 28, 1920 in Rutherford County, son of the late James Tillman McSwain & Amanda Laws McSwain. Mr. McSwain was a member of Zion Baptist Church for 30 years, and served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Ken was a US Army Veteran, a retired textile worker of 45 years and also retired as a City of Gastonia employee. The family sends a special thank you to the staff at Gaston Manor for all their special care of our brother. A funeral service will be held 1 pm on Monday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Leo Kuykendall. The family will receive friends 11:30 - 12:30 on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. He is survived by: brothers, Moris McSwain of Gastonia, Clarence E. McSwain and Frank D. McSwain both of Conyers, GA; sisters, Doris M. Earney and Cynthia M. Blanton both of Gastonia. In addition to his paarents he was preceded in death by: his wife of 65 years, Lou Ellen Hyde McSwain; daughter, Patricia McSwain Warren; brothers, Albert L. McSwain, Edward L. McSwain, James T. McSwain Jr., Burl T. McSwain; sisters, Alma M. Robinson, Margaret M. Kerr. Memorials may be made to Zion Baptist Church, 2437 Propst St., Gastonia, NC 28054.
