Kenneth Lee Kerr

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Kenneth Kerr, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this life on January 19, 2025, at the age of 70.

Born on January 7, 1955, Kenneth lived a full and vibrant life, marked by his unwavering love for family, loyalty, and a profound appreciation for the simple pleasures that brought him joy.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Kerr; mother, Helen Kerr; father, Paul Kerr Sr.; and sister, Sandra Faile.

Kenneth was a devoted family man, cherished by his children, Adam Kerr and Cristina Gourley; along with his daughter-in-law, Ashley Kerr; as well as his son-in-law, Anthony Gourley. His legacy will live on through his grandchildren, including Cadence Flowers, Hunter Flowers, Sandra Smith, Savanna Kerr, Michael Smith, Matthew Tindall, Caleb Bell, and Tristen Sams. He reveled in their laughter and took great pride in supporting their dreams. Kenneth was also a loving brother, leaving behind his sisters, Becky Loncaric, Cathy Davis, and Shelley Rhyne; as well as his brother, Paul Kerr; and their respective families.

A man of simple pleasures, Kenneth found great joy in the company of his loved ones, the feel of the wind on his face while scraping the road on his beloved tractor, and the thrill of working on vehicles. He had a special affinity for dogs, often finding companionship in their loyalty and love. Kenneth was a kind and caring soul, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer supportive advice to anyone in need. His warmth and humor will be profoundly missed.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Roger Overton, will be held 3:00pm, Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In these moments of sorrow, we remember Kenneth Kerr not only for the loss we feel but for the beautiful memories he gifted us, a testament to a life well-lived. He will forever remain in our hearts as well as our lives.
