Kenneth Roger
Humphries
Jan 11, 1946 — Jun 20, 2026
Kenneth "Ken" Roger Humphries, 80, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, at his home with his loving family surrounding him. He was born on January 11, 1946, in Gaston County, son of the late Lawrence Humphries and Mary Benton Humphries.
Ken was a good and loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with family and friends while making so many good memories with each of them. He loved going out with family to eat, especially on Mother's Day and Father's Day.
He especially loved golfing in his early days, playing a little poker with a few of his friends and especially going fishing with his kids and his wife. He and Joyce were always in contest with each other on how many fish or how big of a fish the other would catch. We all hope that you enjoy fishing in heaven, our beloved Ken.
He retired as a machinist after 30 years of service from Reliance Electric.
Ken was Joyce's soulmate and she, the family and friends will miss him always and will miss his loving support that he gave everyone.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, and would have been 54 years in one week, Joyce Parker Humphries; children, Mark Humphries and wife Angie, Tina Michaels and husband Jason, Shane Humphries; grandchildren, Shadie, Emma, Madison, Mason; sisters, Linda Lane and husband Emory, Gail Blanton and husband Bruce, Connie Humphries; sister-in law, Shirley Humphries.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brother, Junior Humphries and his grandparents.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Dennis Gomez. The family will receive friends 12:00 - 1:00 pm prior to the service. The burial will be at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City.
