Kaye Welch Saylors

October 13, 1939 - October 23, 2026

Kaye Welch Saylors, 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Stanley Total Living Center in Stanley, North Carolina.

Born on October 13, 1939, in Gastonia, North Carolina, Kaye was a strong, hardworking, and fiercely independent woman. She was known for her quick wit, unforgettable sense of humor, and spirited personality.

Kaye had a natural eye for beauty and a passion for decorating, both inside and out. Whether at her home in Gastonia or her beloved beach house, she took great pride in her surroundings, always finding creative ways to rearrange and refresh her own spaces and those of others. She found joy in life's simple pleasures-taking long walks, relaxing on her porch, getting lost in a good book, and working in her yard. Kaye also loved a good bargain and enjoyed exploring thrift stores and yard sales in search of hidden treasures, often finding special things for those she loved.

Above all, Kaye was the best Mawmaw. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments. She cherished every moment spent with them. For those she helped raise and guide, her love felt like home. She was also a loving mother, devoted wife, cherished sister, and loyal friend. Kaye lived a full and meaningful life, always remaining true to herself.

Kaye will be remembered for her remarkable strength, fierce independence, sharp sense of humor, and the love she shared with those around her. Her love, laughter, and unforgettable presence touched the lives of so many, and her memory will remain in the hearts of her family forever.

She is survived by her children, Angie Bradshaw and her husband Robert, Amy Saylors, and Alex Saylors and his wife Bonnie; her grandchildren, Kayce Bragg and her husband Greg, Addy Cox and her husband Austin, Master Sergeant Luke Saylors, Jessy Musick and her husband Zac, Dr. Seth Saylors and his wife Olivia, Staff Sergeant Kyle Wilson, and John Bradshaw and his wife Maggie; her great-grandchildren, Grayson Bragg, Margo and Olive Musick, Clark, Evie, Faye, and Kirby Saylors, and Kate Bradshaw; and her sister, Nell Scheringer.

She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Luther Saylors, and her precious daughter, Pamela.
