Kay Frances Dobbins

Kay Frances Dobbins, born on September 26, 1941, in Bessemer City, North Carolina, left this world peacefully on August 20, 2026. She was a devoted mother, a loving homemaker, and a friend to all who had the good fortune to know her.

Throughout her life, Kay's heart was as big as the mountains she cherished and the waves she embraced at the beach. She found joy in creating, pouring her love into crafts and Christmas balls that sparkled as brightly as her spirit. With a scrapbook in hand, she captured moments of joy, laughter, and family-her greatest treasure.

Known as a maternal figure to many, she had an innate ability to care for those around her, whether human or animal. Injuries were met with her nurturing touch and tender care; she treated everyone with warmth, making her home a sanctuary of love and healing.

Kay's fondest memories echo in the laughter shared at the drive-in movies-where she embraced the magic of the screen, a legacy that lives on through the Bessemer City Kings Mountain Drive-In, a family treasure that drew laughter and love together in the form of stories on film.

She is survived by her two sons, Eric (Loveth) and Charles Dobbins (Renee), Grandchildren Ashley, Kira, Taylor, great-grandchildren Stratton, Charlie, Eli, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and warmth.

Even as we say goodbye, the love she shared with her family will continue to shine brightly in their hearts.
