Kathy Moss Smith

Kathy Moss Smith, 65, of Cherryville, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ, on June 9, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

She was born on May 2, 1956, in Gaston County, to the late Alfred Woodrow Moss and Alice Wells Moss.

Kathy was a member of West Cramerton Baptist Church, and a former member of Ridge Baptist Church, Gastonia. She loved the Lord and her family with all of her heart.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Johnson; and brother-in-law Leonard Johnson.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Crystal Smith; sister, Debbie Dills (Jerry); nieces and nephews, Afton Phillips (Brandon), Abbey Maliea Dills, Julie Brown (Terence), Patrick Johnson, and Seth Johnson (Anna); boyfriend, James "Morris" Dills; 3 great nephews; 4 great nieces; honorary grandchildren, Justin Dills, and Kayla Chappell; and special friend, Tina Harrison.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Mike Ivey and Pastor Chester Waters, will be at 11:00 am on Monday, June 14, 2021, at West Cramerton Baptist Church – 5006 Wilkinson Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28056.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment to follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont.
