Kathy Rogers

On October 24, 2015 Kathy Elaine Rogers, 62, of Gastonia, went home to be with the Lord after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 31, 1953 in Bryson City, daughter of the late Ross and Winnie Mae Taylor. Kathy was a loving wife, caring mother and grandmother, and a devoted sister. She was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church in Bryson City. Left to cherish her memories are her husband of almost 16 years, Jim Rogers of the home; children, Sheila Inman and husband Willie of Kings Mountain, Raina Moore of Gastonia, Mike Smith and wife Renee of Fallston, Chris Rogers and wife Laureen of Gastonia, Amanda Bazzle of Gastonia, and Raven Crawford of Charlotte; brother, Steve Taylor and wife Paulette of Bessemer City; sisters, Lynda McKinney and husband Alan of Gastonia, Debbie Fulbright and husband Harold of Lowell, Robin Edison of Florida; grandchildren, Brittany and Bethany Sisk, Josh and Zéna Moore, Georgia and Danny Warren, Ethan Rogers, Austin, Tyler, and Ashley Smith; great-grandchildren, Malachi and Coraline Huntsinger, Hunter Parker; and beloved pet, Poncho. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Jerry Millwood, will be held 6 pm Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 - 6 pm Tuesday prior to the service. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
