It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kathy Ann Pilkington, who left us on May 30, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on August 30, 1964, in Gaston County, North Carolina, Kathy spent her life in Gastonia, NC, where she was cherished by all who knew her.

Left to cherish Kathy's memories are her two daughters, Angela Funderburk and Laura Jenkins (Joe); grandchildren, Leland Childers, Helen Childers, Haylee Freeman, Alexis Keller, Zoey Jenkins, and Conner Jenkins; brother, Ray Sparks, and her love for her family was immeasurable. Known for her infectious laughter and warm spirit, Kathy brought joy to countless lives and had a unique ability to make everyone around her smile.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Ray Pilkington; parents, Jerry Doster and Marlene Sparks.

Kathy's impact on her family and friends was profound; her legacy will live on in their hearts.

In accordance with her wishes, Kathy's services are private.

She will be dearly missed, but her laughter and love will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched.
