Kathleen "Kathy" Polkinghorn

Kathleen "Kathy" Polkinghorn was a caring mother, grandmother, and friend.

She passed away at the age of 74 on December 4, 2021, after a two year battle with cancer.

Kathy navigated the past two years the same way she lived her life with faith, love, and a giving heart. She was the loving mother and grandmother to four children and eight grandchildren.

Kathy is lovingly remembered by her four children; Kayla (Jimmy) James; David Polkinghorn; Abigail (Peter) Beagen; and Lucas Polkinghorn; and loving grandchildren; Meadow, Canyon, and River James; Riley Polkinghorn; Maple, Amélie, and Everett Beagen; and Nora Polkinghorn; her sister, Kathy Smith; and brothers, George Messinger and David Yanek; and the rest of her family and friends.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Edith Westley; her biological mother, Pearl Haas; her daughter-in-law Ashley Polkinghorn; and her brother, Chipper Yanek.

She spent her career teaching children with special needs and providing safe transportation for hundreds of children to and from school. She loved spending her retirement with her grandchildren, faithfully praying and reading her bible, planting new herbs and vegetables in her garden and trying new recipes.

The memorial service will be at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 2:00pm officiated by Pastor Dicky Spargo, visitation will follow.
