Gastonia
Kathleen M. Bland, 84, of Gastonia, passed away September 29, 2018 at her residence.
She was born April 13, 1934, a native of Gaston County, the daughter of the late L.J. McFalls and Gertrude Dellinger McFalls.
Kathleen was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She graduated from Kings College. She retired from Firestone and worked part-time for Dr. Marlowe's office. Kathleen grew up on Brown Street in Gastonia. She resided most of her life on Arkray Street, then moved in with her daughter until her passing on Old Church Road.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Keith Bland in Shelby; Fred Lamar Bland of the home; daughter, Joyce Jones and husband David of Alaska and Cathy Langlois and husband Steven of the home; sister, Cheryl Thomas of Gastonia; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Odell Bland.
The family will receive friends 1 – 2 pm Friday, October 5, 2018 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
A funeral service officiated by the Rev. Greg Ballard will be held 2 pm following the visitation at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
