Katherine Staley

Katherine Staley, 81, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

She was born September 24, 1939, in Cherokee Co, SC, daughter of the late Vester Martin and Martha Viola Peterson Martin.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Barney, Letha, Erskine, John, and Edith; daughter, Sandra Lawson; and great grandchild, Travis Davis.

She is survived by her sons, Joe Staley and wife, Nancy, and David Staley and wife, Sandy; daughter, Patricia Staley; brother, Wesley Martin; sister, Bertha Queen; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends 5:30 – 7:00 pm on Monday, August 30, 2021, at the funeral home.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Joe Staley and Pastor Gary Teague, II, will be held 3 pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Burial will be held at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Gastonia.
