Karen "Katy" Stewart Poole

Karen "Katy" Stewart Poole, 58, of Gastonia, passed away April 30, 2017 at the Brian Center.

She was born May 31, 1958 in Portsmouth, Virginia, the daughter of the late Dean "Rip" Stewart and Vivian Campbell Stewart.

Katy was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church.  She was a medical office assistant.  She was also a substitute teacher for Gaston County Schools.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons Matthew Smarr; David Mack and wife Heather; daughter Emily Mack and boyfriend Jamar Williams; brother Alan Stewart and wife Ashley; sister Lori Stewart Ross and husband Danny; eight grandchildren and five nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David C. Poole.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. David Belle Isle.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Her final resting place will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
