Karen Meek

Karen Rose Meek, 48, of Gastonia, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

She was born on July 18, 1972, in Gaston County, NC to Charles Fitzhugh Rose, III and the late Linda Ledford Whisnant.

Karen fought hard against Lupus and spent a lot of her time working with a Lupus support group.

She was also a member of United Baptist Church in Gastonia.

In addition to her mother, Karen was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Dewitt Ledford and Bud Rose.

Left to cherish Karen's memories are her husband, James Meek; sons, Malcum (Elizabeth) and Robert Grant Meek; sisters, Jennifer Graham, and Brooke Bem (Tobias); grandmothers, Ruth Ledford and Jackie Rose; nieces and nephews; Harlie Bandy (Josh), Gavin Graham, Charlotte Bem, Johanna Bem, and Logan Meek; and grandchildren, William, Mason, and Declan Meek.

A memorial service for Mrs. Meek, officiated by Pastor Ray Pennell, will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 20, 2021 located at United Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the United Baptist Church Building Fund – 1970 Lowell – Bethesda Rd., Gastonia, NC 28056
