Julius "Sonny" Putman

Julius "Sonny" Putman, 73, of Gastonia, passed away November 23, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born January 4, 1941 native of Gaston County, son of the late Watson J. Putman and Effie Bass Putman. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Revs. Joe Lawing and Jeff Silver. Visitation will be 12:30 - 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont. Sonny is survived by his wife, Gail Putman; son, William L. Putman and wife, Angela; daughters, Krista Anderson and husband, Keith and Kimberly Putman Nguyen and fiancé Allen Summerville; sister, Loretta Glover and husband, Charles; grandchildren, Chelsea, Courtney, Brittany and Lindsey Putman, Brooke And Taylor Anderson, Kaylee and Karmen Nguyen and Blake Summerville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, David Putman and sisters, Clydia Barker and Becky Tedder. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
