Julian "Randy" Manning

Julian "Randy" Manning, 77, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully April 25, 2017 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

Born June 2, 1939 in Cherokee County, SC; the son of the late Boyd and Marie Wray Manning.

Randy was a member of Lowell Church of God and a veteran of the United States Army.  Randy was also the founding owner of Randy's Muffler and Brake Shop of Gastonia, starting the business in 1984.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 35 years, Mable Manning; children Loretta Dover, Kenneth Reid and wife Debbie, Kevin Reid and wife Cathy, Kimberley Hallas, and Kristopher Reid and wife Hanna; 1 sister; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers; 3 sisters and daughter Kathleen Sitler.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Joe Heffner, will be held 3 pm Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Lowell Church of God.

The family will receive friends 7 – 9 pm Sunday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel, Gastonia.

Burial will be in Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
