Judy Gable Rankin

Judy Rankin, 82, of Charlotte, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ November 23, 2024, at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 26, 1942, in Charlotte, NC, a daughter of the late Hazel Gable and Rebecca Moore Gable.

Judy grew up in the Steele Creek area and was a longtime member of Paw Creek Presbyterian Church. Judy worked as a lab technician for a pediatrician's office for many years, before eventually working in the positive pay department for BB&T bank. After retiring, she resided in Cramerton, where she became a member of First Baptist Cramerton. She loved keeping the kids in the children's nursery. Judy was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and was always giving to others. Judy's six grandchildren were her greatest joy in life, whom she loved cooking and making homemade popcorn for, which was her favorite snack. Judy's favorite places were Boone and Valley Crucis, in the Appalachian Mountain region of North Carolina.

Judy was the epitome of a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, cousin, neighbor, friend, citizen, and most importantly, Christian.

Judy is survived by her daughter Becky McDonald (David) and son, Jason Rankin (Tonya); six grandchildren; Rider, Kaleigh, and Riley (Becky), Brandon, Justin, and Karson (Jason); one great-grandchild, Caroline (Becky); sisters Carol Davis and Nancy Gable; brother, Thomas Gable and sister-in law, Linda Gable.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dwight "Bruce" Rankin, and brother-in-law, Andrew "Jimmy" Davis.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center for showing loving care to Judy.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Road, Gastonia, with a visitation to follow.
