Judy Ann Gipson Browne

Judy Ann Gipson Browne, 73, of Gastonia, passed away on March 13, 2022 surrounded by her family.

Judy was born on August 29, 1948 to Charlie Thomas Gipson and Rosie Modean Robbins in Gastonia. Judy retired from the United States Postal Service after 29 years.

In 1981, Judy met Doug, her husband of 39 years. Although Judy and Doug had no children together, they had four children between them.

Judy was an art teacher for many years and shared her passion with others. She loved teaching and meeting new students that soon became friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Browne, father, Charlie "Glenn" Gipson and mother, Modean Gipson, and brother, Thomas Gipson. She is survived by her sister, Linda Owens and husband Marshall, son Tony Adair and wife Julie, daughter Gwendolyn Adair, son Matthew Browne and wife Michelle, daughter Wendy McCraw and husband Doug, granddaughters Samantha, Brooke, Erin, Summer, Victoria, and Alexis; grandsons Josh, Noah and Griffin. Additionally, Judy had 7 great-grandchildren Cheyenne, James, William, Benjamin, Charlie, Zach, and McKenna.

A service to celebrate the life of Judy will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Ridge Baptist Church, 3818 Old York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28056.  The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catawba Heights Baptist Church Celebrate Recovery, 311 Belmont-Mount Holly Road, Belmont, NC 28012 or Cleveland County Animal Service Trust, 1601 Airport Road, Shelby, NC 28150.
