Dr. Judith "Judy" M. Brandt, Phd

Dr. Judith "Judy" M. Brandt, PhD, 78, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at her residence.

She was born May 29, 1943, in Oconee Co, SC, daughter of the late Conrad Ernest Brandt and Loma Irene Carter Brandt.

Judy was a member of Lutheran Chapel, Gastonia. She had graduated from her hometown Walhalla Highschool. After she furthered her education by receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee, a Master's degree from the University of Arizona, and a Phd from the University of Southern Mississippi. She was a psychiatrist for Gaston County Schools, where she was devoted to the wellbeing and mental health of children. Judy was also a devoted volunteer to American Red Cross, and friends of the Library Lutheran Chapel, Clothes Closet and BackPack weekend food program. She took pride as an election judge, in the local precinct.  She was loyal and caring to a vast collection of friends. Judy had a passion to travel and visited every continent. She was a beloved sister, and aunt.

She is survived by her brother, Larry Conrad Brandt (Carol); nephews, John Brandt (Casey), Alex Brandt (Elizabeth), and Mark Brandt; and great-nieces and nephews, Jackson, Kathryn, and Owen.

Family will receive friends 6-8pm on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Michael Comer, will be held 11am on Saturday, at Lutheran Chapel Church - 702 N New Hope Rd., Gastonia, NC 28054.

Burial will be held Sunday at Oconee Memorial Park, Seneca, SC.
