Joyce Ellen Huffstetler Cable

Joyce Ellen Huffstetler Cable, 83, of Gastonia, passed away March 22, 2017 at Sherrill's Ford Hospice House with her loving daughter Mary Annette by her side.

She was born December 22, 1933, a native of Gaston County, the daughter of the late Joseph Reece Huffstetler and Cora Caroline Baker Huffstetler.

Joyce was a proud Cherokee Indian.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.  She was employed as a dedicated worker for over 30 years with Homelite and Tony's ice Cream.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Mary Annette; sisters Connie Greenlee and Jane Earney; grandchildren Jason, Ashley, Alison, Kristin, Jessica, Sara, Jenna, Elizabeth and Adam; 14 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Caroline Denise Ball and brother Joe Huffstetler.

A memorial service will be held 3 pm Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends at 2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be private for family where she will be laid to rest in Cherokee, NC.
