Joyce Maier Coxey

Gastonia, NC Joyce Maier Coxey, 69, passed away November 18, 2013, at the Kings Mountain Hospice House. She was born April 2, 1944 in Gastonia, daughter of the late Stace Henry and Jettie Mae Ballard Maier. Joyce was a member of Temple Baptist Church, Gastonia. A celebration of Joyce's life will be held 2 pm on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Revs. Greg Ballard and Scott Whitener. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. The interment will be held after the service on Thursday at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia. She is survived by: her loving husband of 51 years, Roy Coxey of the home; daughter, Lorie Coxey Owens and her spouse, Lucas of Grover; sisters, Betty Guy, Shirley Davis; grandchildren, Michael Woods, Marcas and Marisa Owens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her son, Roy Coxey Jr. II; a brother, Bobby Maier.
