Joy Haney Johnson

Joy Haney Johnson, 49, of Bessemer City, passed away on January 9, 2021.

She was born May 11, 1971, in Gastonia, NC, daughter of the late Jewel "Slim" Eugene Haney and Ruth Haynes Haney.

Joy was a member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church in Gastonia.

A funeral service will be held  2:00 pm Monday, January 18, 2021, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Roger Overton.

She will lie state from Noon – 2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

Joy is survived by her loving husband, Billy Johnson;  her children, Jessica Hannah Fletcher(Tyler), Jonathan Hannah(Shelby); sisters, Jill Haney Coy, Jan Haney, June Haney Hunnicutt (Mark); stepchildren, Crystal Johnson, Billy Johnson(Stephanie) Candy Osborne(Mike); grandchildren Alexis Johnson, Levi Johnson, Gage Jones, Tristen Wallace, Kelci Jones, Trevor Wallace, Zadie Fletcher, Kate Hannah, Isaac Hannah; great- grandchild, Jack Stroud.

In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her sons, Taylor Scott Hannah, Adam Lee Hannah.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
