Joy Marie Garren, 78, of Kings Mountain, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022, at her residence.
She was born June 2, 1944, in Davidson County, daughter of the late Raymond and Helen Everhart.
Joy was a member of Missionary Methodist Church in Cherryville, where she was involved with the Ladies' Circle.
She was a seamstress with America Sample House in Vale.
She spent many years as a seamstress including making clothes for her family.
Joy loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a dedicated wife and loved her husband until his passing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack McKinley Garren; and her brother, Gene Raymond Everhart.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons and daughters-in-law, Timmothy Garren (LaDonna) and Dell Garren (Danielle); daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Lynn Binnix (Andrew) and Susan Garren; brothers, Barry and Odell Everhart; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 6:00 pm Friday, October 7, 2022, at Missionary Methodist Church in Cherryville.
The family will receive friends at the church from 4:30-5:30 pm prior to the service.
Pastor Robert Holtzclaw and Assistant Pastor Jimmy Rudisill will officiate the service.
