Joseph Junior Ward

Joseph J. Ward, 95, went to be with his Lord on November 3, 2020 at Stanley Total Living Center, Stanley.

He was the loving husband of Myrtle Bellamy Ward.  They celebrated 71 years of marriage before she preceded him in death.  He was a proud father of five children; daughters, Frances Hanna (preceded him in death), Peggy Bragg and husband Larry; sons, Roger Ward and wife Karen, Jack Ward and wife Peggy, and daughter, Susan Kessler and husband Scott; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Bellamy Ward; daughter, Frances Hanna; granddaughter, Kelly Christenbury; and grandson, Darius Bragg.

He was a loyal member of the Lowell Church of God.  He loved his church and family and will always be remembered as a dedicated Christian and faithful member.  He worked in textiles until he retired.

A service of celebration of his life will be held at Lowell Church of God on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 11:00 am.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stanley Total Living Center, 514 Old Mont Holly Road, Stanley, NC 28164.
