Gastonia - Joseph Anthony "Joey" Taylor, 41, left his earthly home and entered his heavenly home to see Jesus on May 25, 2013. > A Gaston County native, he was born November 18, 1971, to Billie Simmons Taylor and the late Joseph H. Taylor, Jr. > In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Nellie Simmons, and Emma and Joseph H. Taylor, Sr. > Joey was a #1 Dallas Cowboys fan and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. > He fought hard, a long battle with cancer, loved hard, and won the battle knowing he was loved by many family, friends, and Calvary Baptist Church family. > In addition to his mother, Billie; Joey is survived by his daughter, Emily Taylor; and two brothers, Jeff and Bryant Taylor. > A funeral service, officiated by the Revs. Josh Glandon and Jeff Taylor, will be held 2 pm Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church. > The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 pm - 2 pm Tuesday. > Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park. > In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Gaston Hospice, P.O.
