Joseph "Joey" Mitchell Jr.

Joseph "Joey" Mitchell Jr., 67, of Lowell, NC, passed away, Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

He was born December 22, 1954, in Columbus, Georgia to the late Joseph and Kathleen Mitchell.

Joey was a veteran of the US Navy. He loved his family and loved playing golf and softball. Joey was a native of Muscogee County, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Wanda Buchanan Mitchell; sons, Matthew Hall and Joseph Mitchell III and wife Angela; daughter, Alvina Scaff; brother, Terry Mitchell; sister, Ann Keathley; six grandchildren, Dylan Bryant, River Bryant, Whitney Mitchell, Kaden Mitchell, Issiah Hall, Kane Mitchell.

A graveside service officiated by Pastor Johnny Yarboro, will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Edgewood Cemetery in Lowell, NC.
