Joseph Monroe Green

Gastonia, NC Joseph Monroe "Joe" Green, 79, passed away February 16, 2013 at his home. He was born October 1, 1933 in Westminster, SC, son of the late Joseph Clyde Green and May Love Smith Green. A memorial service will be held 6 pm on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC, officiated by Rev. Jerry Millwood. The family will receive friends on Thursday, after the service at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Clark Green of the home; numerous sons and daughters; brother, Jay Green; sisters, Betty Worsham, Susie Cunningham, and Patricia Hall; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Green Jr.; brothers, Jerry, Jack and Ronald Green; sisters Sara Norris, Barbara Thompson, Phyllis Brown, Judy Lewis and Debra Thompson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar St., Lincolnton, NC 28092.
