Jose "Freddy" Mojica-Rosa

Jose Alfredo "Freddy" Mojica Rosa passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2021, at the age of 55, in Gastonia, North Carolina. Despite him not feeling well before his passing and some previous hospital stays between this year and the one prior, he passed away peacefully.

Jose had a love for music, a passion for cars, and had a true zest for living his best life. He was the kind of person who could pick up any instrument and learn to play it by ear and with mastery. Jose was a devout father despite having his trials and tribulations in life and gave the most optimistic, sobering, and humbling advice. Often, he would fight with his children over who would hang up the video call saying in Spanish, "Dale pikileche, engancha tu," and never ended a call without reminding us to keep moving forward no matter what. He was the funniest, most caring, and loving person anyone could ever hope to come across. In his words, "Hay que seguir pa' lante, pa' tras ni pa' coger impulso." He will be sorely missed and forever loved.

Jose is survived by his Fiance, Cheyenne Moats, her two baby girls Cataleya Moats and Edna Moats, his three children, Alfredo L. Mojica, Freidalyz Mojica, and Josuam Mojica, and grandchildren, along with his mother, Susana Rosa, his father (deceased), Jose Antonio "Toño" Mojica, his brothers, Victor Rivera, Orlando Mojica, Luis A. Mojica, Edgardo Mojica, and his sister, Daisy Mojica along with many nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts, and cousins.

Jose will be honored Friday, August 6, 2021, from 6 pm to 9 pm at the South Chapel in Greene Funeral Services, on 1503 South York Road, Gastonia, NC.
