Jones "Jr" Whisnant Jr.

Jones "JR" Whisnant Jr., 72, of Dallas, NC, passed away, Monday, March 15, 2021 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

He was born December 4, 1948 a native of Gaston Co, NC, son of the late Jones Roscoe Whisnant Sr. and Catherine Avery Whisnant.

JR was a mechanic and loved drag racing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Kay Melton Whisnant.

Jones is survived by his sons, Steven Whisnant and wife, Ashley and Chad Whisnant and wife, Crystal; daughter, Renee White and boyfriend, Tom Bowlin; grandchildren, Cameron, Gavin, Luke and Aleigha Whisnant, Aaron, Evan, Alyssa, Emily and Caroline NG; great-grandchildren, Holdon and Harper NG; and mother-in-law, Sue Melton.

A gathering of friends and family will be held 6-8 pm on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.
