Johnny Garland Weathers

Johnny G. Weathers, 72, of Gastonia, passed away July 12, 2016, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, surrounded by his family.

He was born May 5, 1944, in York County, son of the late Delia Weathers.

Johnny served in the US Airforce during the Vietnam War. He was a native of York County.

Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Eugene Weathers.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 30 years, Anita Dillard Weathers; son, Johnny G. Weathers, Jr. and fiancé, Tara Stewart; stepchild, Joey Hogan and wife, Jody; daughters, Barbara Ann Weathers, Kimberly Weathers Smith and husband, Daryl; stepchild, Angela Hensley and husband, Danny; sisters, Carolyn Hager, Linda Summitt, Pauline Beard; and 6 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 3pm on Saturday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd. Gastonia. Rev. Mike Criswell will be officiating.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Military honors will be conducted at the service by the Gaston County Honor Guard.

Interment is private.
