Johnny "Chief" Parker, Sr.

Johnny "Chief" Parker, Sr., 80, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021, at his residence.

He was born October 10, 1941, in Madison Co, NC, son of the late Vance Parker and Alma Irene Johnston Butner.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara M. Parker; daughter, Donna Parker Hester; brothers, Clifford, and Ernest Parker; sons, David, and Daryl Parker; and sisters, Nattie Ewing, Betty Christopher, Ruth Goins, and Kathy Day.

He is survived by his son, John L. Parker, Jr.; brother, Charles Parker and wife, Debra; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Raymond Johns, will be held 2pm on Friday, December 10, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, NC.
