Johnny Neil Howard

Johnny "Neil" Howard, 61, of Clover, SC, passed away at his home on March 1, 2022.

He was born in Gastonia, NC on November 30, 1960, to Mildred Bingham Howard and the late Kenneth Garland Howard.

Neil was a patriot.  He bought American goods and was a stout conservative and Trump supporter. Neil had a big heart and was a very giving person.  He formerly owned and operated Carolina Welding and Carolina Comfort Storage.  Affectionately known as Paw Paw Neil, he was a girl-daddy.  Neil enjoyed the mountains, golfing, fishing, the beach, and he loved his grandchildren.  He loved music and playing the guitar.  Neil enjoyed having cookouts with family and friends.  He was a best friend to his sons in law.

In addition to his father, Neil was preceded in death by his nephew, Richard Brooks.

Neil is survived by his daughters Amy Penninger (Wes) and Alicia McMahan (Josh); mother, Mildred Howard; grandchildren, Sage (Peadab), Marli (Pebbles), Annaston (Peanut), and Trenton (Partner); honorary grandson, Noah Hopkins (Hippie); three sisters; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Neil, officiated by Pastor Jim Ogle, will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 3:00 pm at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC.  The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home between the hours of 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City, NC.
