Johnny Ray Nantz, 70, of Gastonia, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Atrium Health in Charlotte.
A Gaston County native, he was born September 21, 1950, son of the late Ivy-Lee and Pearl Pate Nantz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dolly Ann; nephew, Josh Jones; and father-in-law, Rev. Charles Clark.
Mr. Nantz was a veteran who served in both the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army.
Johnny was a loving and kind husband and father.
He loved the mountains, the lake, and being outdoors, and was an animal lover.
Mr. Nantz attended Calvary Baptist Church in Gastonia.
He loved the Lord and reading the Bible.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Marsha Clark-Nantz; stepson, Robby Chase; daughters, Cheryl Martin and husband Eddie, Tee Jay Nantz; stepdaughters, Heather Huskey and husband Jack, Anita Moses and husband Mickey; sister, Iris Haywood; grandchildren, Aislinn, Nicole, Chloe, Nathan, Haley, Kendra, Alexis, Aliyah, Alec, Chandler, Autumn, Sydney, Keaton, Aniston, and Marek; great-grandchildren, Wylla, Nevaeh, Delilah, and Realeigh.
A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Josh Glandon, will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 15 at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1593 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
