Johnny McFee, 78, of Bessemer City, passed away on May 11, 2014 at his home. He was born April 14, 1936 in Gaston County son of the late Grady William McFee and Jessie Sosebee McFee. Johnny was a member of First Wesleyan Church, Bessemer City, for 24 years. He loved his family and his church. He enjoyed Bluegrass Gospel music. He retired from Firestone after 39 years of service. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on Friday at First Wesleyan Church, 510 E. Alabama Ave., Bessemer City, officiated by Pastor J. Wesley Brown. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. Johnny is survived by: his loving wife of over 57 years, Faye Bumgardner McFee; sons and daughters in-law, Kevin and Linda McFee, Keith and Phyllis McFee, Marvin and Katherine McFee; grandchildren, Melissa Guy and husband Josh, Leah Spolowitz and husband Kyle, Rebecka McFee, Jason McFee, Brianna Bush McFee, Brandon McFee, Kyle Bush, Amanda C. Pack and husband Jeff; six great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: son, Christopher Lamar McFee; brother, Gary Lee McFee. Memorials may be sent to First Wesleyan Church, P.O. Box 682 Bessemer City, NC 28016 or Gaston Hospice P.O. Box 3984 Gastonia, NC 28054 Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
