Johnny Lawson Wright

Johnny Lawson Wright, 65, of Kings Mountain, passed away on December 8, 2014 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. He was born March 14, 1949 in Kings Mountain, son of the late Clem Verdis Wright and Wilma Sellers Wright. Johnny was a lifelong member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. He owned and operated Wright's Barber Shop in Cherryville, NC. Our Dad was humble, funny, happy and the best Dad ever. He was very loving, caring and deeply devoted to his family .He loved to be at home and spend time with his family. We thank God that even through his sickness Dad got to stay at home. He loved picking up his granddaughter Hope from school, she was the apple of his eye. A memorial service to celebrate Johnny's life will be held 4:00 p.m., on Thursday at Patterson Grove Baptist Church, 301 Oak Grove Rd. Kings Mountain, officiated by the Reverends Brian Austin and Tim Hendrick. The family will receive friends 3:00 - 3:45 p.m. on Thursday at the Family Life Center. Inurnment will be private. Johnny is survived by: daughters, Sandra Wright Austin and husband Brian of Gastonia, Kimberly Wright Darby and husband B.J. of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Stephen Hinson, Hope Hinson of Gastonia, Jeremy Darby, Justin Darby of Kings Mountain; nephews, Larry Wood and wife Cindi, Phillip Wood and wife Cindy all of Kings Mountain; niece, Ashlie Hancock and husband Jeff of Concord; close special friends, Carl Falls, Darrell, Donna and Jeremy Putnam all of Kings Mountain. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: wife, Barbara King Wright; grandson, Hunter Lee Hinson.
