Johnny Carl Kale

Johnny Carl Kale, U.S. Army Veteran and life-long Gastonian, died in his sleep on the morning of November 10, 2022, at the age of 81 in his home.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Patsy Nichols Kale; his daughter, Kandy Lineberger Myers; his grandchildren, Johnathon Kale Blanton and Lillian Dean Myers; his brother, Charlie Lee Kale; his little buddy Chico Jose; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers and sisters: Clyde Vance Kale Jr., William "Bill" Govan Kale, Sarah Elizabeth Kale Romary, Star Kale Huffstetler, Roland Clinton Kale Sr., Francis Lucille Kale Thomas, Jennie Ludean "Dean" Kale Posey, Jane Kathryn Kale Davis, Roland David "Cooney" Kale, and Oscar Ferris Kale.

Johnny was born in Gastonia on August 23, 1941, to the late Clyde Vance Kale Sr. and Minnie Dale Kale. He served his country as an MP in Germany during Vietnam and established a company known as Mill Parts Co. in the 70's. He married his loving wife of 55 years, during which he welcomed a beautiful daughter into the world, who was the most important part of his life.

Johnny was an incredible singer, golfer, and businessman. He toured the country with his band Johnny K & The Marvelles. Johnny has also won several golf tournaments. He was a wonderful, passionate, and caring man who will forever be remembered as a legend by his family, friends, and everyone who knew him.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. Johnny Yarboro, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia, NC 28052

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with military honors presented by the Army National Guard.
