Johnny Junior Ivester

Gastonia, NC - Johnny Junior Ivester, 82, of Gastonia, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House. He was born June 20, 1932 in Toccoa, GA, son of the late Luther and Dolly Ivester. Johnny is survived by: children and spouses, Ronnie Ivester of GA, John Ivester of NC, Eddie Ivester and wife, Gail of NC, Joseph Matherly and wife, Melody of NC, Dale Matherly and wife, Donna of NC, Rita Ivester of Alabama, Anita Davis of NC, Jerry Matherly and wife, Yvonne of GA, Jeff Matherly and wife, Mary of NC, Tony Matherly and wife, Debbie of VA; sister Sue Taylor of GA; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Ivester. A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm on Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Clarence Morris, Jr. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
