Johnny "Bobby" Cody

Gastonia, NC - Johnny "Bobby" Cody, 66, passed away July 18, 2014 at Carolina's Medical Center, Charlotte. He was born native of Gaston County, August 3, 1947, son of Edith and the late Robert Cody. Bobby was a loving father and husband. He was an Appalachian State University Alumni. Bobby was a very sociable person, he had many friends from the time he spent on the football field to talking on his favorite CB radio. He was someone you could trust and rely on, someone you could confide in and ask for advice. He never met a stranger. Bobby was someone we have all had the great privilege of knowing, and from that we have a lifetime of memories, so he will surely live on in our hearts. In addition to his mother, Bobby is survived by his wife, Libby Cody; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Aaron Davis; brother, Steve Cody and extended family. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Alyssa Autumn Davis. A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm on Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery - 1462 Armstrong Ford Rd., Belmont, officiated by the Rev. Chester Waters. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
