John "Pete" Ware Crenshaw

John "Pete" Ware Crenshaw, 82, of Gastonia, passed away May 16, 2017 at his residence.

He was born August 12, 1934, a native of Gaston County, the son of the late Vermon "Curly" Crenshaw and Ruby Ware Crenshaw.

John was a veteran of the United States Army, who served during the Korean War.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Gastonia and the founder of Crenshaw's Cars and Trucks.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Johnny Crenshaw and wife, Lisa; daughter, Traci Crenshaw; grandchildren, Tyler Marr, and Anna and Ben Crenshaw.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Kay Crenshaw and sister, Martha "Jerri" Johnson.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Josh Glandon, will be held 11 AM Friday, May 19, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church, 3001 York Hwy, Gastonia.

The family will receive friends 10 – 10:45 am prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
