It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Thomas Walls, 71, of Bessemer City, North Carolina, who left us on September 2, 2026. Born on July 21, 1955, John was a beloved husband, a devoted mechanic, and a cherished friend to many.
John spent his working years as a mechanic at Mosley Construction, where he honed his passion for fixing things, especially lawn mowers. He was known for his skillful hands and his friendly demeanor that made him a favorite among his colleagues and customers alike. When he wasn't working, you could find him spending quality time with his beloved dog, Ruby, who brought him so much joy.
A proud member of Holland Memorial Baptist Church in Bessemer City, John was truly a prayer warrior. He had a special gift for lifting others up in prayer and was always there to support those in need. His unwavering faith and compassion for others left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
John is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Charlene Walls; sons, Michael Walls and Jamie Walls; grandchildren, Somer Walls, Jamie Lee Walls, and Taylor Walls; great grandchildren, Aiden Walls and Aurora Walls; brothers, Larry Walls and David Aldridge (Angela), all who will cherish their memories together and carry his spirit in their heart.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Lexie Walls; sisters, Mary Queen and Martha Truett; Brother Lewis Walls.
We invite friends and family to join us in honoring John's life with a service that will celebrate his love, faith, and the laughter he brought to our lives. A Celebration of his life will be held at Holland Memorial Baptist Church, 123 Holland Memorial Church Road, Bessemer City, NC, Saturday, September,12. 2026, 11:00 AM and we hope you will join us to remember this wonderful man who touched so many lives.
