John Lewis Vinson, 79, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, November 6, 2020, at his home.
He was born January 1, 1941, in Newport, TN, son of the late Hattie Vinson Huffman.
John retired from Wix Filters after 43 years of service. He enjoyed playing sports and riding motorcycles.
Left to cherish his memories are with wife of 46 years, Cora Vinson; sons, Jeff Vinson (Tammy), Randy Scoggins (Tamatha); daughters, Cindy Perez (Roberto), Sandra Climbingbear (Navarro); sisters, Faye Huffman, Sue Hollingsworth, Judy Glenn; grandchildren, Luis Rodriguez, Kenny Linfield, Kelly Linfield, Paulo Rodriguez, Juanita Chastaine, Nikkie Bruce, Matthew Scoggins, Sarah Scoggins, Christina Vinson, Josalee Vinson, and Misty Woodward; 15 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, 2:00 pm, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia. Pastor Kevin Jones will be officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
