John Thornburg

John Charles Thornburg, 70, of Gastonia, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.

He was born on April 2, 1950, in Gaston County, to the late Lucius Odell and Bertie Lee Mobley Thornburg.

John was a member of Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church in Dallas. He was retired from Talon Inc., formerly of Gastonia, after 25 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Jason Simmons.

Left to cherish John's memories are his son, Jonathan Thornburg; brothers, Eddy Thornburg (Michelle) and Larry Thornburg (Angela); sister, Donna Shook (Dennis); nephew, Jeremy Simmons; and niece, Jennifer Watts.

A graveside service for Mr. Thornburg will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Gaston Memorial Park.

The South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium is assisting the family.
