John J. Smrz Jr.

John J. Smrz Jr., 80, of Gastonia passed away April 27, 2015. Mr. Smrz retired from Stabilus in 2000 after 13 years of service. A funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Jerry Millwood. The family will receive friends 10:00 - 11:15 prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Mr. Smrz is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Alice Faye Weaver Smrz; sons, Patrick and Perry Smrz, Lyndell Johnson Jr. (Katrena); daughters, Johnna Mills (Richard), Judith Draper (Steve), Kim Kaluzny (Robert); brother, Larry Smrz; sisters, Shirley Smrz, Emily Sliwski; sister-in-law, Gladys Lail; numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Joseph Smrz Sr. and Helen Podzimek Smrz; son, John J. Smrz III; grandchild, John J. Smrz IV. Memorials may be sent to Gaston Hospice P.O.
