John "Johnny" Revels

John "Johnny" Revels Jr.,64 ,of Bessemer City, passed away on October 8, 2017, at his home.
He was born  May 29, 1953, in Norfolk County, VA, son of Verlin Virginia "Ginny" Boatwright and the late John Paul Revels Sr.
Mr. Revels was a member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church in Gastonia.
He was employed with Revels Contracting Service in Gastonia.
A funeral service will be held  11:00 am Wednesday, October 11, 2017,at Chapel Grove Baptist Church 716 Camp Rotary Road Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Roger Overton and Rev. Mike Johnson.
The family will receive friends 6 -8 pm Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia.
Burial will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Revels is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sherry Revels of the home; children, Amy Hull and husband Bill, John Revels III and wife Lindsey, all of Bessemer City, Michelle Frizzell and husband Randy of Clyde, NC, Aundrea Bolt of Bessemer City; daughter-in-law Melinda Davis of Cherryville; siblings, Jim Revels Sr. and wife Stacy of Charlotte, Teresa Pennington and husband Rae of Cherryville, Bob Oakes and wife Susan of Kings Mountain, Raymond Wilson and wife Lori , Debbie Keenum and husband Dale, all of Gastonia,  Sherry Gault and husband Jerry of Myrtle Beach, SC; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by son, Gregory Davis.
Memorials may be sent to Chapel Grove Baptist Church 716 Camp Rotary Road Gastonia, NC 28052.
Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
