John C. Quickel, Jr. passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and a passion for the simple pleasures of life.
John graduated from Carolina Business College in Charlotte with a Business Degree and went on to build a dedicated career, eventually retiring from American Truetzschler. Outside of work, he was a true handyman and outdoorsman. He found great joy in fishing, rebuilding engines, gardening, and tending to his yard work. Enjoying fast cars from a young age and a Sunday drive in his 1967 BJ8 Austin Healey to the beach and through the mountains.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John C. Quickel, MD. and Alyce M. Quickel; his cherished wife, Mary C. Quickel; former wife Ann "Cookie" Lancaster and his grandson, QM3 Timothy B. Standish Jr.
John's memory will be kept alive by his loving family. He is survived by his daughters, Suzanne Standish, Patricia Blair, and Elizabeth Van Sickle; his son, John C. Quickel III; his step-daughters, Joann McKnight and Bonita Robinson; and his step-son, Jacob Gish. He also leaves behind a legacy of many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.
