John "Chester" Miller

John "Chester Miller", 70, of Gastonia, died July 25, 2020, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

A native of Macon, GA, he was the son of and Belle Hall Miller and the late John Charles Miller

He was an active member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church. Chester was a good listener and was known among his friends for giving solid advice.

He openly cherished his wife and his family. He was known as Papa to his three grandchildren, Julie, Jasmine and Kevin that were his true pride and joy.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 2:00 pm, at Chapel Grove Baptist Church, Gastonia, NC. Pastor Seth Barkles will officiating.

In addition to his mother, Chester is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Charlene Miller; his son, Jason Britt Miller and his wife Claudia of Gastonia; sister, Dorothy Farmer of Goosecreek, SC; brother, Edward Miller and wife, Pam of Warner Robins, GA.

Chester was preceded in death by his two sons, Michael Wayne Miller and Phillip Kevin Miller; and also by his sister and older brother.
