John "Steve" Lowe, Sr., 74, of Dallas, NC, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

A proud native of Gaston County, Steve was born on December 26, 1950, to the late Frank and Laura Lowe. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Jane Lowe, with whom he shared many cherished years.

Steve served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and later built a career as a dedicated commercial truck driver. Known for his quiet strength and steady presence, he found joy in the simple things-especially tending to his yard, where he took pride in every blade of grass and blooming flower.

Above all, Steve was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience in the hearts of those who knew him. He is survived by his son, John Lowe Jr. (Miranda Moore); his daughter, Leslie Amanda Grissom (Ronnie); and his treasured grandchildren, Cody Whisnant, River Grissom, Ian Grissom, and Ryder Grissom. He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers, Jeff Lowe (Karen) and Dickie Lowe (Kathy); nephews, Woody (Kim) and Andy; nieces, Katie Lowe and Lindsay Lowe; and great-nephews, Alex and Max.

A service to celebrate Steve's life will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 2:00pm at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. Rev. Sam Barnette will officiate.
