John Wayne King

John "Johnny" Wayne King, 53, of Gastonia, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A Gaston County native, he was born March 13, 1961, son of the late James Edgar King, Sr. and Nellie Mae Holland King. In addition to his parents, Mr. King was preceded in death by his sisters, Pinkie Pressly and Kay Norris; and brother, James Edgar King, Jr. He is survived by his sisters, Connie Fowler and husband Jay, Carrie King, and Lynn Hyde; uncle, Jim Alexander; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Chris Doster, will be held 3:30 pm Sunday, April 27 at Maranatha Baptist Church in Dallas. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
