John Keaton

John "Shorty" Keaton, 83, of Belmont, NC, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on April 12, 1937, in Transylvania County, NC, to the late Samuel Joshua Keaton and Mary Stamey Keaton.

John was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved his family and animals. Mr. Keaton retired from Gaston Co Dye/Machine Co.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by brothers, Samuel Bud Keaton, and Jim Keaton; sisters, Nell Reid, Ruth Goldsmith and Virginia Rogers.

Left to cherish John's memories are his loving wife of over 60 years, Faye Smith Keaton; daughters, Lenora McIntyre (Tim) and Letresia Rumfelt (Dennis); sister, Jane Evett; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Tim Parker, will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 2:00pm located at Greenwood Cemetery in Belmont.
