John "Johnny" Homer Barrett, Jr.

John "Johnny" Homer Barrett, Jr. 74, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024, at his residence.

He was born November 16, 1949, a native of Gaston Co, NC, son of the late John Barrett, Sr. and Iva Lee Cole Barrett.

Johnny was born and raised on Ozark. He loved carp fishing, softball, and bowling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Richard Brooks; daughter, Karen Barrett; brothers, Kenneth Barrett, and Doug Barrett; sister, Francis Barrett; and father-in-law, Ken Howard.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Nancy Barrett; grandchildren, Chase Brooks, Hunter Blanton, and Gabriel Ewing; nephew, Eric Berryhill; nieces, Kim Barrett, Brittany Barrett, and Eva White; and mother-in-law, Mildred Howard.

The family will receive friends 6:00pm–8:00pm, Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.
